H-P Products Brings Its Web Sites In-House With LANSA
H-P Products is a manufacturer of residential floor care and industrial tubing products based in Ohio, USA and uses the LANSA Commerce Edition with which H-P developed its first dealer website. They have three websites now. With LANSA, bringing an idea to the web was quick for H-P with the use of an indigenous development staff. The fact that being able to stay well within the limits of an already tight timetable was very convincing to H-P's marketing people. They followed a LANSA training course and are now doing their own development, LANSA being pretty straightforward and easy to use. With the website, over 40% of the web orders are now placed outside normal business hours. As such, dealer loyalty is extended by allowing them to do business with H-P in any way they want and at the time they want to do business. Orders are automatically entered into the system to be picked almost immediately. The process is smooth and efficient. The site enabled them to personalize their service because exclusive access rights and business rules can be assigned to the various dealer groups. The sites physically share data files with MAPICS. There is no need to refresh data. H-P is now looking at using LANSA for employee self service, sales force support, product configuration in the engineering section and for rapid green-screen development and replacement.
