Heuristic Method for Effective Cellular Network Planning Design

Channel allocation has been considered a NP complete problem, and involves a very important issue for the adequate dimensioning of wireless communication networks. In this paper, the authors apply the formulation of Minimum Span problem (MS-CAP) with heuristic method to three benchmarking problems, for some of which interference-free solutions cannot be found but the approach is able to minimize the interference effectively. In recent years, popularity of mobile phones has resulted in the rapid expansion of the mobile communication industry. Intensive research has been undertaken to develop sophisticated systems with increased network capacity and performance.
