As a solution Union Pacific deployed Dell PowerEdge R905 and 6950 servers, powered by the AMD Opteron processor for all of Union Pacific's virtualization, and mission-critical applications. Operating-system-based virtualization software, including Microsoft Windows Server Hyper-V and RedHat Xen.
