Holmesglen TAFE challenge is to Replace ageing servers and network equipment to provide a more reliable service to students and teachers. They got the solution of new network, server and storage infrastructure at the TAFE's data centre as well as a new wireless network across three campuses. They achieved reduced server hardware costs by 30% and used 50% less space in the data centre, created virtual machines on a smaller number of physical servers, which reduced hardware costs, reduced the time it took to provision new servers from days or weeks to minutes, offered wireless connectivity to 50,000 TAFE students, will build a disaster recovery centre to eliminate downtime in the event of a server failure or disaster at the primary site.
