Source: Microsoft
Hostnordic is a web-hosting company based in Arhus, Denmark. The Microsoft Gold Certified Partner was nominated for the Microsoft Hosting Partner of the Year award in 2009. Te firm decided to virtualise its data centre. With just 15 employees and a commitment to reduce its impact on the environment, Hostnordic saw virtualisation as a way to: reduce its carbon footprint and decrease running costs. The challenge was to deliver a competitive customer offering. Hostnordic virtualised its data centre with Windows Server 2008 and Hyper-V technology from Microsoft. Although the competitor product VMware was assessed, Hostnordic wanted to take advantage of the Microsoft Dynamic Datacenter Toolkit to streamline its hosting environment, and the Microsoft Service Provider Licence Agreement (SPLA) to offer competitive customer.
