HP Case Study: Museum of Victoria (Australia)
Source: Hewlett-Packard (HP)
Founded in 1854, Museum Victoria offers a window into the history, peoples, and technology of Australia. It sought a wireless LAN that would enable technical staff to use handheld devices to maintain exhibits so they could operate without interruption and simplify the management of the collection items. The Museum Victoria IT Services team was also committed to ensure a network infrastructure with continued stability, security, and reliability. The museum began using two 3Com Switches 7700 10-Gigabit ready core switches as the network backbone in its Melbourne Museum central computer room, plus a 3Com Gigabit Ethernet LAN switch as the core at the Scienceworks campus.
