The HP System VLSI Lab (SVL) is responsible for designing and testing the high-performance, high-end Application-Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) chipsets that work in concert with Intel's Itanium processors to power HP Superdome servers. SVL wanted to build a computing and storage infrastructure capable of supporting the design of the next generation of chipsets for HP Superdome servers. SVL investigated several solutions, and chose HP Scalable NAS File Serving Software.
