IBM System Storage DS3300 Storage System 1000 Mailbox Clustered Continuous Replication Microsoft Exchange 2007 Storage Solution

This paper describes an Exchange storage solution for 1000 users on the IBM System Storage DS3300 storage system using Microsoft's Clustered Continuous Replication technology. The tested user profile was 0.384 IOPS (0.32 + 20% overhead) per user with a mailbox size of 500 MB. The solution can be scaled to support additional users and/or larger mailboxes by increasing the number of disks to support the increased I/O load & space requirements. The IBM System Storage DS3300 storage system is an excellent choice for small to medium sized businesses requiring scalable, highly-available, and high-performance iSCSI storage.
