IBM Technology Adoption Program Cloud Sandbox Internal Pilot

Cloud computing is a hot topic with technology companies, analysts, and customers. IBM has completed an internal pilot to implement cloud computing. This paper details the pilot experience, including the objectives, system details, user feedback, and lessons learned. The Technology Adoption Program (TAP) alpha of the Cloud Sandbox offering provides a test bed where IBM employees can request cloud computing resources. TAP Cloud Sandbox is targeted towards developers and testers, but is also open to any interested IBM employee. This alpha project is the second in a sequence of offering milestones to gain experience with the operation of an IBM developer cloud, harden the technology systems, determine requirements, validate design, and understand the support systems necessary.
