Impact of Multi-Packet Transmission and Reception on Throughput Capacity of Wireless Ad Hoc Networks
Source: UC Regents
The authors study the capacity of random wireless ad hoc networks when nodes are capable Multi-Packet Transmission and Reception (MPTR). This paper extends the unified framework of (n, m and k)-cast by Wang et al. with Single-Packet Reception (SPR) capability for each node to MPTR. (n, m and k)-cast considers all types of information dissemination including unicast routing, multicast routing, broadcasting and any-casting. In this context, n, m and k represent total number of nodes in the network, number of destinations for each communication group and actual number of destinations that receive the packets respectively.
