Implementing HP StorageWorks Cluster Extension for Windows in a VMWare Virtual Machine
Source: Hewlett-Packard (HP)
This paper describes how to implement Cluster Extension within a VMware virtual machine hosted by a VMware ESX server. Implementing Cluster Extension within VMware virtual machines adds high availability to the isolation and resource utilization benefits provided by virtualization. No changes were necessary for XP CLX or EVA CLX to support VMware. However, there are specific configuration steps that must be followed when setting up the VMware ESX server. When using a VMware virtual machine, multi-path software is not supported within the Windows guest OS; however, VMware ESX server handles multi-path functionality.
