Incorporating Immersive Projection-Based Virtual Reality in Public Spaces
Source: FOUNDATION OF THE HELLENIC WORLD
As immersive virtual reality increases in popularity, a growing number of institutions incorporate projection-based display systems in their daily function. For the most part, these institutions operate in the academic, research, and industrial domains while the users of their virtual reality systems are specially trained staff members and researchers. There is, however, considerable interest in virtual reality applications on behalf of museums, educational organizations, the medical and corporate field, and the entertainment industry. This paper examines the issues involved in the deployment of immersive projection-based virtual reality technology in museums and other public spaces.
