Information Rights Management (IRM), available in Microsoft Office Outlook 2007, allows individuals to specify access permissions to e-mail messages. By using IRM, it helps prevent sensitive information from being printed, forwarded, or copied by unauthorized people. The organization must install and deploy IRM before the user can use it. The Windows Rights Management Services (RMS) Client Service Pack 1 (SP1) must be installed on the computer either by the user or their RMS administrator. To install IRM, the user should start with Step 1: Install the Windows Rights Management Services (RMS) Client.
