Interactive Museum Improves Communication, Brings History of Texas to Thousands of Visitors With New 3Com Secure Converged Network
Source: 3Com
The Old Red Museum of Dallas County History & Culture in Dallas is located in a restored 1890's courthouse that was reopened last year after an extensive six-year restoration and renovation project. According to Ross Crabtree, manager of Information Technology for the Old Red Museum of Dallas County History & Culture, "When they got ready to move into the building in January 2007, they were starting from scratch. They had to build a phone system, install all the network switches, provide enterprise wireless capabilities, and deploy a firewall. "After researching the market, Crabtree worked closely with 3Com partner Allcom Solutions, which designed an all-3Com voice and data network that could meet the museum's internal communication and collaboration needs and support its many network-based interactive exhibits and PCs.
