IT Performance In The European Banking Industry
Source: Boston Consulting Group
Differences in IT spending behavior between global and local players are becoming somewhat more prominent, while differences among local players themselves are becoming less prominent. In 2006 global players spent ?8,400 more on IT cost per employee and outsourced 7 percentage points more of their IT activities than local players. Also, global players significantly increased their non-IT operating expenses (while their IT costs remained virtually fiat). Therefore, operating margins actually decreased for global players on average, while they increased for local players.
