Knowledge Management as a Key for e-Business Competitiveness

Knowledge is the lifeblood of E-Commerce (EC). Processes and activities involved in EC are technological means that contribute to managing knowledge. This paper reviews the major perspectives on EC and examines their relationships with concepts of collaborative commerce and electronic business, particularly in terms of the technological handling of knowledge. From this, it is noted that Knowledge Management (KM) can provide insights for helping e-business achieve a competitive advantage. The Knowledge Chain model is summarized and its nine knowledge management activities are discussed.
