Kort & Matrikelstyrelsen Centralizes Data to Provide Users With Up-to-Date Mapping and Geographic Data

Kort & Matrikelstyrelsen is part of the Ministry of the Environment. The agency performs tasks for the government in the field of mapping and geographic data in Denmark, Greenland, the Faroe Islands, and surrounding waters. The organization's main task is to make maps and geographic data into an everyday tool for the public sector, businesses, and citizens. The challenge was to enable the organization to manage rapidly increasing data volumes, more than 20 different databases, and data backup and reduce occurrence of several versions of the same map existing in different locations. Kort & Matrikelstyrelsen provided a faster and better overview of many maps, from topographical maps through land register maps to nautical charts and implemented one common access route to all Oracle databases.
