Latvian University Implements New E-Learning System to Help Distance Learners
Source: Microsoft
The Latvian University of Agriculture's IT faculty - founded in 2001 - offers educational qualifications in IT at bachelors, masters, and doctorate levels for campus-based and distance learners. The IT faculty at the University of Agriculture in Latvia wanted a modernised e-learning environment to support both classroom and distance learners. The previous open source system lacked flexibility, and was expensive to operate. Microsoft Gold Certified Partner Datorzinibu Centrs recommended Windows SharePoint Services, which not only supports all the e-learning curriculum needs, but also automates many previously manual processes. It is already opening up channels for better collaboration and communication between students and teachers.
