LEARN Brings IT Skills Training and Opportunities to Bangladeshis
Source: Microsoft
Since 1997, LEARN has made computer-based local wireless networks available to rural areas of Bangladesh. The charity also provides start-up capital and technology training to young, local entrepreneurs. In 1997, LEARN created and deployed a local, computer-based wireless network in rural districts of northeastern Bangladesh. In partnership with Microsoft Unlimited Potential, the United Kingdom-based SmartVillages, and Sustainable Development Networking Program, LEARN provides financial support and technology training to young entrepreneurs. Through eight community technology centers, LEARN has the potential to reach two million rural Bangladeshis.
