Live Migration of Power Partitions Running SAP Applications: Live Partition Mobility Scenario for Migration of SAP Applications on Linux Running on Power Servers
Source: IBM
This whitepaper demonstrates a working setup for the manual migration of partitions with running SAP applications between POWER6 servers. The shown scenario may be applied for the reduction of planned system downtimes and for the consolidation of application workload. In this whitepaper demonstrates a Live Partition Mobility executed using the migration wizard on the IBM Hardware Management Console (HMC). In this scenario, the authors migrates running partitions with installed Linux operating system, DB2TM V9.5 and MaxDB 7.6 databases and SAP NetWeaver 7.0 applications from one physical POWER6 server to another without any downtime.
