Location Based Service: A Case Study Location Based Messenger

This paper aims at location based messenger. The concept described here helps tracking the people with respect to their location and also the users who are in the same cell area are able to chat. Initially the user has to register with the service to avail this facility. One who is willing to chat with the people in some specific location can sign in. The user can virtually set the location to the one he/she is interested in. Now she can get the list of available users who are signed in and are currently roaming in the same area. Then the messenger enables chatting with selected user. The location based messenger provides the above mentioned functionalities using XMPP (EXtensible Message and Presence Protocol).
