Logistics Company Reduces IT Support Costs 50 Percent by Replacing OpenOffice.org
Art of Transport Logistics (ATL), based in Russia, provides transport logistics services to more than 15,000 companies around the world. After 16 months of problems and reduced employee productivity, the company decided to migrate from OpenOffice.org to Microsoft Office Standard 2007, a Microsoft Office 2007 suite. The company expects to save 50 percent in support costs and increase productivity by more than 60 hours annually for most employees. The annual value of the reduced IT support costs, increased revenue, and improved productivity is expected to be RUB13,000 (U.S.$550) per employee.
