Mainframe-Compatible Transaction Processing on Windows

Computer-based transaction processing is the engine of the twenty-first century economy, processing trillions of transactions every year. The growth of e-commerce Web sites in the past 10 years has been phenomenal. But Internet transactions represent just a small proportion of the business transactions conducted daily by computers around the globe. For example, the International Technology Group (ITG), states that transaction processing activity worldwide peaks at around 25,000 transactions per second. This transaction-based workload increases daily as businesses automate more business processes, as system vendors pack more and more processing power into their servers, and as new economic centers, such as China, enter global markets. Nowhere is this growth more apparent than in the volume of trades handled by the world's leading stock markets.
