Cembrit virtualised its infrastructure with VMware, but this was expensive. It wanted to: enhance data-centre management tools and reduce licensing fees. The challenge was to lower energy consumption and costs. Cembrit worked with Microsoft Gold Certified Partner Knudsen Consulting to establish a virtualised environment based on Hyper-V technology with Microsoft System Center infrastructure management tools. Licences for Hyper-V are included in Windows Server 2008.
