Mastering Finance Challenges To Achieve High Performance: Insights Into Finance And Performance Management

Their mastery of finance and performance management capabilities is a critical strategic lever in helping drive shareholder value. In fact, finance mastery helps create a high-performance business in more than seven out of 10 companies, Accenture research shows. But the journey to high performance is not without its challenges, as the latest research makes clear. In the ongoing study of the relationship between the finance function and high performance, Accenture conducted 35 in-depth interviews with Chief Financial Officers (CFOs) and other finance executives globally and convened 14 small group interviews with more than 100 finance executives from Global 500 companies. This paper sought to understand how their finance strategies, leadership qualities and mastery of finance and performance management capabilities contribute to their company's overall performance.
