The cost of memory leaks is significant and is often associated directly with production down time, or a slipped deployment schedule. Unfortunately, the costs of appropriate test solutions are also significant, and customers are often unwilling - or unable - to invest the resources necessary. To be clear, the best approach for solving memory leaks is to detect and resolve them in test. This paper provides a high level overview of the techniques available in IBM WebSphere Application Server to address Java heap memory leaks.
