Mid-Year Global Threat Report
Source: Eset
The mid-yearly Global Threat Report looks at malware threat trends over the past six months, focusing on broad trends rather than the minutiae of individual malicious code: this is a better reflection of the proactive detection which is the strength of products. Analysis of threat tracking and reporting systems over the past six months enabled to reach some interesting conclusions. It also says about detection denotes a specific variant of a large family of bots, malware used to gain control of a victim's PC in order to recruit it as a component of a botnet, a virtual network of compromised machines (also called zombie networks) used for tasks that are more effectively performed by many machines than by one or two.
