Moving Away From Traditional Backups and Moving Towards Data Protection

The research paper reviews three backup trends, Continuous Data Protection (CDP), Data Deduplication and Data Replication and shows the advantages and disadvantages of each backup trend and determines if one or more current backup trends is more cost effective than a backup solution consisting of a robotic tape library and backup tapes. Additionally, this research evaluates previously existing research carried out by individuals and organizations to determine if it pertains to this research project.
