Multi-QoS Multipath Routing in Wireless Mesh Networks
Source: University of Notre Dame (Mendoza)
Municipal and metropolitan wireless mesh net-works are increasingly being used to transport traffic with various different Quality-of-Service (QoS) requirements. This paper studies the use of multipath routing as a means to satisfy multiple QoS requirements of mesh network applications simultaneously. Toward this end, this paper introduces the Multi-QoS Load-Balanced (MQLB) routing protocol which dynamically distributes data packets across multiple paths based on application and network QoS expectations. A concrete example, combining the energy and latency requirements of a mesh application, is used to demonstrate the use and benefits of MQLB.
