Network Coding Based Data Distribution in WiMAX
Source: Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers
This paper proposes a network coding based data distribution mechanism in WiMAX. Packets are sent by the BS and then a network coded packet is sent for the data reliability. Different schemes of coding and transmission method are also provided for the data distribution mechanism. In the development of WirelessMAN, IEEE standard 802.16, which is also called WiMAX, is a promising standard. It provides high bandwidth and long distance radio link access. Besides, it could also accommodate a large wide range of applications. Therefore it is attracting large concentrations. In 802.16e, Multicast Broadcast Services (MBS) is provided in the standard. It allows the base station (BS) to send data packets to multiple Mobile Stations (MS) simultaneously.
