Network Optimisation: Taking the Road Trip to Network Nirvana

This paper highlights the importance of taking an end to end view of performance - as one might for availability - and stress that performance should be treated in much the same way as continuity to fully exploit the capabilities of the existing capacity. When one talks about performance, what does one mean? There are many links in the performance chain, but in the end, it's best defined in terms of results - the 'End user experience'. Is the performance the end user experiences acceptable? Does it meet their requirements to be productive? Does it enable one's business to operate in faster, more efficiently and conveniently? This is what performance optimisation is all about!
