New Artificial Intelligence Systems for Improving Student Math Skills: Assessment and Learning in Knowledge Spaces (ALEKS)
Source: University of Alabama
Artificial intelligence technology for advancing mathematical understanding is achieving new gains through a computer software called Assessment and Learning in Knowledge Spaces (ALEKS). ALEKS, an artificial intelligence system developed by a team of researchers at New York University and the University of California through the support of the National Science Foundation, is intended to form a basic framework of understanding for mathematics concepts. A growing number of high schools and institutions of higher learning have implemented ALEKS successfully into their classrooms. Over 120 ALEKS implementation sites around the country have been documented
