Non-linear Optimization of Mobile Radio Aware Routing Algorithm in Wireless Sensor Networks
Transmission failures occur frequently in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) due to node failure, battery discharge, or interference by objects. Lossy WSNs are the error model to emulate real sensor networks having those unpredictable failures. The Radio Aware (RA) routing algorithm is used to solve the lossy WSN problem that may occur due to any transmission failures, although the nodes might be out of the communication range and lose connectivity. In this paper, an Optimized Mobile Radio Aware (OMRA) routing algorithm is proposed. It takes into account the communication radius in addition to the air time cost, the distance from a node to the sink and the failure flag to choose the intermediate nodes.
