Source: Nortel Networks
Open Mobile is an operator that serves the Puerto Rico wireless market and launched in June of 2007. Open Mobile is characterized by its innovative products and solutions portfolio that it provides its subscribers. Open Mobile replaced the aging Movistar wireless network with an infrastructure that would help to reduce overhead and provide reliable cost effective service, while ensuring customer longevity by enabling top quality voice and data wireless services. With this change, Open Mobile was looking to increase the number of subscribers, additional customer features and applications by providing a best in class CDMA network. By partnering with Nortel, Open Mobile was able to achieve its initial business objectives and launched its Unlimited Plan business.
