Buskerud College wanted to streamline the server system to deliver a better service to students and teachers. He wanted to virtualise the network to: decrease energy overheads and improve system availability. The challenge was to reduce maintenance and support. The school deployed a virtualised server environment based on Hyper-V virtualisation technology in Windows Server 2008, and Microsoft System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2008, which helps employees plan, manage, and deploy virtual machines from a single console.
