Novel Multi-Granularity Optical Switching Node With Wavelength Management Pool Resources

A novel multi-granularity optical switching node with wavelength management poll resource is presented, which is much more cost effective and multifunctional than the conventional architectures. Multi-granularity switching nodes play an important role in the Optical Circuit Switching (OCS) network which has involved into a mesh topology. And OCS granularity can be classified as fiber switching (FXC), waveband switching (BXC), wavelength switching (WXC), sub-wavelength switching (EXC). Previous multi-granularity nodes require a large switch core which is very complex, difficult to fabricate, and high cost.
