NRMA Motoring and Services Improves Database Performance by 300%, Eliminates Downtime
NRMA Motoring and Services uses a third-party Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system to field calls from members who need assistance and dispatch jobs out to patrol vehicles over a mobile data network. The system stores information about how many service vehicles are on the road and how many jobs are pending. The CAD system has been running on Oracle Database since it was first introduced in 2004 and was recently running on Oracle Database 9i. The organization upgraded to Oracle Database 11g to improve database performance and call-handling times, establish a new tiered storage strategy, and introduce more efficient server hardware.
