On Distributed and Self-Organized Inter-Cell Interference Mitigation for OFDMA Downlink in IMT-Advanced Radio Systems
Source: Institute of Electrical & Electronic Engineers
This paper introduces a set of novel RRM philosophies: the distributed Robin Hood philosophy, and the self-organized proactive donation philosophy. By applying these philosophies with the soft-frequency reuse scheme, the authors proposed two novel inter-cell interference mitigation algorithms for the OFDMA based IMT advanced air interface: Distributed and Dynamic Power Robbing (DDPR), and Self-organized and Dynamic Power Shaping with Proactive Donation (SDPS/PD). Compared with the existing soft-frequency reuse schemes, their proposed algorithms are dynamic in the nature and more efficient and flexible.
