This case study details how Chown Hardware was able to build a comprehensive online product catalog with the help of LANSA. Chown hardware is known to be one of the largest distributors of quality plumbing fixtures and door hardware in the USA. David Chown of Chown Hardware explains that they used to print black and white product catalogs at the intervals of every three years. The process used to be so tedious that the catalog already used to become out of date by the time it came out of the printing press. Further, the corresponding price lists of these catalogs had to be printed separately after a period of every six months. The cost of printing and posting these catalogs also used to be significantly high. They were targeting to publish a new web catalog in order to achieve significant improvement in quality as well as savings. The paper gives an insight into how LANSA helped Chown Hardware overcome all these challenges and assisted them in developing a full color online catalog equipped with search capabilities. Customers can now view this catalog with ease and even take a virtual tour of the Chown Hardware showroom. LANSA was able to do it by employing Chown Hardware's own in-house IT skills.
