Optimizing Sybase ASE for IBM AIX an IBM and Sybase Paper on Optimizing Sybase ASE for AIX 5L and AIX 6.1
Source: Sybase
IBM and Sybase have written this white paper to assist database administrators (DBAs) and UNIX system administrators (SAs) in working together. This white paper helps these professionals achieve the best possible performance from the Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE) on IBM Power Systems running in the IBM AIX operating environment. The focus of this white paper is on Sybase ASE 12.5.1 and later releases, including ASE 15, that run under AIX 5.2, 5.3 and 6.1 on the IBM POWER5 and IBM POWER6 architectures. The recommendations of the original version of this white paper, published in March 2006, applied to IBM AIX 5L logical partitions (LPARs) with dedicated processors, memory and devices.
