Oracle Software Configuration Manager (SCM) Statement of Direction

Oracle supports and maintains Oracle Software Configuration Manager (SCM) 6i, Oracle9i SCM, and Oracle SCM 10g. All these SCM releases provide structured object and file based software change management for the corresponding Oracle Designer release. Oracle9i SCM and Oracle SCM 10g, offer file based software change management for the corresponding Oracle JDeveloper release. Oracle SCM is licensed and ships with Oracle Developer Suite The functionality offered by these three Oracle SCM releases is broadly similar. The emergence of new technologies, particularly J2EE, and the open source version control solutions favored by many Java developers, has influenced the direction Oracle is taking with Oracle SCM.
