Pathway Assistant: A Web Portal for Metabolic Modelling

This paper describes a web portal, Pathway Assistant, which provides computational tools for metabolic modelling tasks. The paper has designed the portal to meet two needs commonly encountered in metabolic modelling: the rapid distribution of newly developed methods to end-users and support for multiple related modelling workflows that utilise different tools and types of data. Emerging technologies such as AJAX and portlets were employed in the development of Pathway Assistant to maximise its usability.
