Performance Evaluation of Elliptic Curve Cryptosystem and Its Application

ECC is a public key cryptosystem similar to RSA but it is based on elliptic curves. ECC are described with setting of the multiplicative group5 of the integers modulo a prime p. Such system can be modified to work in the group of points on an elliptic curve6. Further Diffe-Hellman key exchange can be adapted on these elliptic curves. It is easy to implement Elgamal algorithm on the Diffe-Hellman ECC cryptosystem for the purpose of message and data transfer with higher security and higher efficiency than RSA and NTRU. By the utilization of ECC cryptosystem for encryption and digital signature, the burden and dependency of RSA can be ramified.
