In this paper, the authors present a general mathematical framework for performance analysis of systems employing Bit - Interleaved Coded Modulation (BICM) and Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM). The proposed analysis is general enough to include impairment by general types of noise and interference with finite moments such as Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN), Gaussian mixture noise, narrowband interference, and ultra - wideband interference. They present an asymptotically tight upper bound for the Bit Error Rate (BER) and a closed - form expression for the asymptotic BER at high signal - to - noise ratios.
