Pessimism About The Economy Deepens And Sustainability Policies Are Rare, AICPA-UNC Survey Finds

The U.S. economy has entered a recession and the outlook remains negative, according to a majority of chief financial officers and senior-level executive CPAs surveyed in the third quarter 2008 Business and Industry Economic Outlook Survey of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and UNC Kenan-Flagler. The executives also shared their views on sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR). Very few companies have sustainability policies and most do not report on sustainability or CSR, the survey found.
