Physical Layer-Constrained Routing in Ad-hoc Wireless Networks: A Modified AODV Protocol with Power Control
Source: Carnegie Mellon University
Routing in Ad Hoc wireless networks is not only a problem of finding a route with shortest length, but it is also a problem of finding a stable and good quality communication route in order to avoid any unnecessary packet loss. In this paper, authors propose a modified ad hoc on-demand distance vector (MAODV) routing protocol derived from the AODV routing protocol by considering the bit error rate (BER) at the end of a multi-hop path as the metric to be minimized for route selection.
