Piloting Home Network With Intelligent Agents

The combination of broadband wireless (Wi-Fi, UWB, ...) and commodity wireline (PLC, ?) technologies is expected to provide an easy to deploy, reliable, low cost, home network infrastructure, provided however that the complex issue of ensuring the level of QoS required by applications is properly resolved. This paper proposes to cope with this complexity and manage the QoS of such meshed heterogeneous networks with a home network piloting system based on the use of autonomic agents exploiting the increasingly popular concept of knowledge plane.
