Power Management for Power Over Ethernet Devices/implementation
Source: Michigan State University
Power over Ethernet (PoE) is a widely adopted technology used to transfer both data and electrical power over an RJ-45 cable. PoE has many applications ranging from commercial to industrial. The need to have a standard for getting power down the cable became widely debated issue in PoE solutions. There are three elements to PoE technology when it comes to Power management. The power source (PSE), the device to be Powered (PD) and the cable. This paper will be discussing the management and the delivery of power in PoE Solutions.
