If you have no agreement for services provided, it's your word against theirs. However, a written agreement signed by the customer is verifiable proof of the agreement and can be held up in court. A written agreement should include the names and addresses of all parties involved, detailed explanation of the work or service to be done and by whom, when and how much will be paid for the service provided, time period contract covers, and signature of all parties. The contract should also be dated.
