Public Key Infrastructure Analysis

This paper outlines the minimum information required for the Drug Enforcement Administration's (DEA) Diversion Control Controlled Substances Ordering System (CSOS) Public Key Infrastructure (PKI). It does not address the legal issues associated with the CSOS PKI Architecture. The profile is based on the Federal PKI (FPKI) X.509 Certificate and CRL Extensions Profile, and the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) Request For Comment (RFC) 3280, "X.509 Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) for the Internet". The DEA certificate profile complements the current FPKI certificate profile.
